OUr Mission

What Makes Hubbard Outstanding?

Hubbard Elementary School, located at 104 W. Hubbard Avenue in Columbus, Ohio, is a public elementary school within Columbus City Schools (CCS). The school serves students from pre-kindergarten through 5th grade and has around 241 students enrolled, with a student-teacher ratio of roughly 21:1. The stated mission of Hubbard is to build relationships with students so they can discover their learning potential, passion, and purpose.

What helps make Hubbard distinctive within Columbus City Schools is its deep sense of community and its location in the vibrant Short North neighborhood. The school is housed in a historic building that reflects the character and charm of the area. Additionally, Hubbard offers special learning opportunities beyond the standard district curriculum: every grade level has access to a full-time Mandarin Chinese instructor, and the school maintains a 1:1 technology program so that students build strong digital literacy skills.

Beyond academics, Hubbard enriches student life through regular field trips each quarter and community events that bring together families, neighbors, and staff. One signature event is the annual Chinese Lantern Festival, which celebrates cultural diversity and strengthens school-community ties. This combination of a welcoming neighborhood setting, cultural and technological enrichment, and a focus on relationships makes Hubbard Elementary a unique and vibrant learning environment within Columbus City Schools.

We imagine a future where every student feels confident, curious, and proud of how they are. By honoring our diverse cultures and experiences, we empower students to lead, learn, and make a positive difference in the world.
Our Vision.
